You know how sometimes you see a headline in a newspaper (or, more commonly, on a news site) that is so absurd you have to click the link to find out if someone is fucking with you? Today that headline was

To Revive Hunting, States Turn to the Classroom

That’s a joke, right? Out of all the problems we face as a society, “young people aren’t picking up guns, stalking prey, and learning how to field dress game” seems to be pretty low on the list.

“For us, guns and hunting was a way of life,” said Mr. Helms, the manager of Marstiller’s Gun Shop here. “A lot of places seem to be losing that, and we need to bring it back.”

Wow, a guy who owns a gun shop supports the state stepping in and promoting the sales of guns?

And that’s not even the focus of the article. Like the headline says, it’s all about finding new ways to bring guns and hunting into the classroom.

Another part of the “fun” is learning to accommodate various personal “quirks.”

Infinite Monkey said he’d be over to record his banjo and dialogue(!) parts “between noon and 1.” Then he called at 12:30 and said, “Hey, I’m running some errands, so I’ll probably be there around 3.”

It’s 3:48 as I type this. Eloise just told me that I was an idiot for expecting him to get here before 4:30.
